Child Safety Standards
Last updated 27 September 2026
Mappingo is operated by MappOptimist Technologies LLP. We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and child sexual abuse material (CSAM). This page sets out the standards we hold ourselves and our users to.
Adults only
Mappingo is for people aged 18 and over. Everyone gives their date of birth at sign-up and verifies their face before meeting people, and accounts that appear to belong to a minor are removed.
What's prohibited
- Any content that sexualises, exploits or endangers children, including CSAM in photos, videos, voice messages or text.
- Grooming, sextortion, or any attempt to contact, meet or solicit a minor.
- Sharing, requesting or linking to such content, or trafficking of any kind.
Breaking these rules means an immediate, permanent ban.
How to report
- In the app: open the person's profile or your chat with them, tap ⋯, choose Report and pick the reason. Reports about minors are handled as top priority, and the reported person is blocked for you straight away.
- By email: business@mappoptimist.com, subject "Child safety".
What we do
- We review every child-safety report as a priority, with the reported messages as evidence.
- We remove the content and ban the account, disabling its sign-in everywhere at once.
- We preserve the evidence and report it to the authorities as the law requires, including the National Cybercrime Reporting Portal (cybercrime.gov.in) and law enforcement in India, and the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) where applicable.
- We cooperate fully with law-enforcement requests.
Compliance
We comply with applicable child-safety laws, including India's Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012 and the Information Technology Act, 2000 and its rules.
